I am writing this review to warn you, fellow traveler, for restaurant Il Buco on Via S. Ignazio, Roma. My mother and I had a lunch at this restaurant, attracted by the atmosphere and menu but were very disappointed when the owner attempted to overcharge by almost EU 20. After a rather enjoyable two course meal (the food was actually tasty, especially the pastas) which was overshadowed only by a rather lurking middle aged mustached waiter (let's call him Lurcio) we were presented with a specified but unreadable bill of almost EU 75. Engaged in conversation I paid the bill but realized when the change arrived that it didn't quite add up, so asked for the specified bill again. Lurcio returned with a non-specified bill stating only the total amount. My suspicion grew. When I asked for the specified bill again he reluctantly went back inside and came back minutes later and handed it over. Walking through it I found that (1) a "cover charge" of EU 4 had been added, (2) 3 dishes of EU 8 each had been added up to EU 27 and (3) the total amount of EU 64 had been boosted with more than EU 10. When asking back my money, Lurcio first only returned with EU 10, then after insisting came back with another EU 3 after which I decided to forget about the cover charge. I wanted to leave. When we tried to leave I was pulled inside the restaurant by another waiter, the owner wanted to speak with me. Lurcio seemed to have magically disappeared. Inside the restaurant the owner, a tiny rotund man, indulged in apologies and insisted we come back for a free meal, a free bottle of wine, free grappas, his first born child and eternal soul. It was embarrassing. I was angry and just wanted to leave so after pulling free from his clasping hands I managed to reach the street. To remember this place I took a few pictures of the restaurant and street name after which the owner came running after us, blocking our way in the street, pleading forgiveness. The man seemed close to a heart attack, my sweet mother even started to feel sorry for him. Eventually he offered EU 50 euro compensation from a thick wad out of his back pocket which I accepted. After a few curt "bastas" we managed to escape. Considering the quality of the food, they don't need need this kind of treachery. The whole experience was embarrassing and put a dent in an otherwise fine autumn day in Rome. In the consternation I regret not taking the specified bill. Be careful when visiting this restaurant!

Even with all the explanations on the ending, I still don't understand how a child being in the system is going to change anything, it just did not connect to me. The movie to me it was about people needing to ration out the food so that everyone can eat, so I don't understand how a child is going to fix that. it just does not connect. Like ok so the system had a glitch. how does that have anything to do with the food ? And how does that have to do with people being greedy? It doesn't, so the whole moral and plot of the movie is just jumbled now, are we looking at the greed of people? Or how the system messed up? it's not the same thing so the ending didn't tie anything together.
